The chapel was ordered to Pierre Biard in 1597, one of the best architect and sculptor at this time, by the Duke of Epernon in order to shelter the grave of his spouse, Marguerite, who died in 1593.
The architecture has been preserved : altar, altarpiece and woodwork. The tabernacle has been added during the 19th century. The mausoleum was destroyed in 1793 during the french revolution and was considered by its contemporaries as one of the most beautiful in France. A vault crypt, underneath the chapel, is home to the Epernon family.
