In 977, a charter refers to the restoration of the Priory of Regula and its affiliation to the abbey of Fleury-sur-Loire (Nièvre). No vestige that remains of the building built in the 10th century. The bulk of preserved buildings dating back to the 18th century including the southern front, overlooking the Garonne valley, a double staircase revolution, the stairwell, ironwork Blaise Charlut and cloister. Abandoned by the monks as early as 1790, the priory is damaged during the Revolution and under the Empire. Today it hosts the administrative departments of the city and the court.
