This castle was built on a primitive fortress, built at the initiative of the Plantagenets. The barons gascons revolted take the castle with the bourgeois in installing their war machines on the church convent. Henri III in 1254, is enlarge the fortress. The name of the castle is a distortion of 'four sisters', referring to the likeness of the four round towers, high angles of the castle. It is a formidable fortress besieged several times, especially during the Hundred Years War. Today is a private building that is not open to visitors. Only the facades are visible.
