Description
Saint-Michel-Archange Church of Castelnaud-la-Chapelle. The church is built at the foot of the castle of Castelnaud-la-Chapelle.
The church’s steeple-wall deserves special attention: it has a rectangular gable and has two semi-circular bays. A strip separates the lower register from the upper register.
The church is dedicated to Saint Michael, head of the heavenly militia in the Old Testament. He is the one who chased the angel Lucifer and fought the Dragon of the Apocalypse.
The building was first founded as an archpriesthood.
