Situated in the heart of the forest of the Double, Servanches owned in the 12th century a "espital" belonging to Saint John of Jerusalem. Many pilgrims stopped there when crossing the Double, called the "great road", to go to Santiago de Compostela.
You can also stop there today. The village encourages peace and quiet with its ponds, streams classified as a Natura 2000 area, and the forest of centuries-old oaks.
