Description

The charming village of Fleurac, situated on a hill, was originally the domain of a Gallo-Roman landowner called Fleurus.
In the centre of the village, you will find a church known as the Church of the Templars, dating from the 12th and 15th centuries. Its fortified bell tower was rebuilt in the 19th century, and it has a defensive wall over the pulpit. There is still a square tower that forms the sanctuary today.
This small commune also has several chateaux:
- Château Malbec (16th and 19th centuries)
- Château Cluzeau (16th and 18th centuries)
- Château Souffron (17th and 19th centuries)
- Château Le Peuch (18th century)
- Château de Fleurac (20th century)

An historic reputation:
In the 16th and 17th centuries, the Fleurac area produced a wine of excellent quality. After the phylloxera crisis around 1880, and with no classification, production ceased.
