The church of Notre-Dame, one of the most important and beautiful in the Périgord, was part of the Benedictine abbey of Cluse in Piedmont
It is a pure Romanesque edifice with its barrel vaults, round arches, pillars, 28 capitals, its primitively flat buttresses that characterize the 12th and 13th centuries and its magnificent 12-branch rose window from the 15th century.
At the end of the 15th century, part of the windows were widened and, faced with the threat of the Wars of Religion, the church was hastily fortified and provided with machicolations
The superb portal is reminiscent of the Angoumoisin style by the finesse of its sculpture.
