Borrèze

Description

Borrèze is situated in a valley surrounded by hills 300m high on 2737ha at the gateway to the Black Perigord.
The parish takes its name from the river that runs through it "La Borrèze", a tributary of the Dordogne downstream from Souillac.
The architecture of the houses is in light beige stone and is characterized by the presence of roofs in Corrèze slate and flat Quercy tiles.
The small rural heritage is particularly rich in crosses, ovens, huts built in dry stone.
The river "La Borrèze" is an exceptional site marked out until a certain time by 30 water mills. Only 12 remain, only one of which is still in operation.
