Saint-Aulaye is the only bastide town in Périgord Vert and Val de Dronne. A "street" bastide, it is organized around the Place Pasteur and the Docteur Lacroix shopping street. Founded in 1288 by Pierre de Brémond father and son, the town has a rich and varied heritage to discover.
Stroll along the cobbled streets to discover the 12th-century Romanesque church, the 14th-century bridge, the 13th- and 19th-century château, the 14th-century ramparts and houses dating from the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries. Its discovery trail is ranked among the 10 most beautiful trails in Périgord.
