The Iraty-Cize Plateau offers a landscape shaped for thousands of years by water, pastoralism and forestry. A real gateway to the Iraty massif and its forest (the largest beech forest in Europe), you find yourself here at the crossroads of three of the seven provinces of the Basque Country.
Whether you are a hiker, mountain biker or camper, you will be able to enjoy the three hiking trails that start on this plateau. Following the Iraty River, you can discover the history of this mythical mountain by taking the Erreka Idorra interpretation trail, in the heart of the Iraty forest. The chalet of Cize, information point and thematic site on pastoralism, offers you to discover the world of the transhumant shepherds, to taste their cheeses and to share a moment with them during the numerous summer animations.
