Val de Baïse

The site protects the Baïse valley to the north and south of the city of Nérac. The perimeter covers approximately eight to nine kilometres of watercourses
On this portion, the valley is quite wide, on average 1.7km, with a narrowing at the level of the town of Nerac (barely 1km). In terms of profile, the perimeter protects either the minor bed or part of the first terrace, it never extends beyond the foot of the hill, which is the visual limit of the valley. From upstream to downstream, the perimeter of the site is divided into two islands, and four sectors can be identified: the hamlet of Nazareth and the upstream part of the town of agricultural Nerac, the left bank of the Baïse in the urban sector upstream from Nerac, the banks of the Baïse in the urban sector downstream from Nerac, and finally the agricultural northern sector punctuated by beautiful residences.
