Etang de la Glacière

Formerly called the Basta site with its forges and blast furnaces, this place housed an ice production plant to be refreshed in 1908. Gradually, in everyday language, the Basta pond became the icehouse pond. The manufacture of blocks of ice ceased in 1963. In 1925, a sawmill gave work to workers in the district until 1960. Over the years, a large car park, a children's play area, a fishing pontoon accessible to handicapped, petanque grounds, walk between pond and forest, picnic area under the hundred-year-old oaks, and this green setting steeped in history delights young and old in complete safety (no traffic possible near the pond) .
