Forêt de la Double

The forest of the Double covers an undulating and humid plateau where the trees have found a domain of predilection. The forest of the Double is a mixture of deciduous trees and maritime pines, ponds and small streams that give it great diversity. The ponds are populated by carp and other fish, but also by turtles, including the "cistude d'Europe", a species protected at European level. There are also many varieties of birds as well as mammals such as the squirrel or the very rare European mink. It is a preserved forest and unique in Europe and thanks to its numerous marked paths, it offers its visitors various possibilities of relaxation such as: hiking, biking, horseback riding, but also leisure activities with fishing and hunting without forgetting the leisure centre of Saint-Christophe-de-Double.
