La forêt galerie du Ciron

"Forêt galerie" means those plants made with oaks, pines and all varities of trees standing the long of the Ciron river, protecting it from sunrays during summer.
This "forêt galerie" is very influential because it allows to the brook to keep the waters fresher than the Garonne River.
This difference of temperatures between the Garonne and the Ciron provokes frequently morning fogs in the region and offers to the botrytis cinerea the ideal conditions to its developpement. Thus the "forêt gallerie" is at the beginning of the production line of the wamous Sauternes wines...
