The Aubarède area covers about 47 hectares, bordered by the Isle. The site is characterized by a mosaic of "natural" environments typical of the West Atlantic with meadows enclosed in a bocage with the particularity of being subject to the floods of the Isle.
This mosaic of environments is of ecological, biological and pedagogical interest with a precious breeding ground of species.
The Aubarède is a space preserved from any urbanisation and is of landscaping interest, with hedges and meadows that bear witness to past activities. A 1.5 hectare pond presents a diversified fauna but confronted with two invasive species that disturb the environment, the coypu and the Jussie.
Formerly an area of crops and pasture for work animals, the Aubarède is still exploited by farmers for fodder. The site offers an hour and a half hike for nature lovers.
