Description

The Dordogne River meanders along the limestone hillsides, forming wide meanders called "cingles". Already wide at the level of Lalinde, islets of rypisylve punctuate the watercourse, and the dead trees welcome the migrating osprey.
Going up, the Mauzac dam will be interesting in winter and during migration. Numerous remarkable species have been noted there: Caspian tern, common merganser, common merganser, common goldeneye, red-necked grebe... Tern are also passing through.
Going up along the cingle, on the right bank this time, one can scan the cliffs facing the meander in search of the peregrine falcon or the great raven at the port of Mauzac, the Traly mill and by the accesses to the river.
