Albert Gleizes (1881 -1953) was a founding member of the Golden Section or Puteaux Group.
He was also a member of Der Sturm, and his many theoretical writings were originally the most appreciated in Germany, where in particular at the Bauhaus his ideas were taken into consideration.
Gleizes spent four crucial years in New York, and played an important role in the evolution of modern art in America. Gleizes exhibited regularly at Léonce Rosenberg at the Galerie de L'Effort Moderne (Paris).
