On the left you can see the outhouses of the Château de Voisins, a village then separated from Louveciennes, where Pissarro often sought inspiration. Although long misunderstood, the artist pursued with constancy what he considered his truth: "to paint the essential character of things, to try to render it by any means without worrying about the craft, but to paint what one observes and feels".
