Description

The church of Notre-Dame-de-Toute-Grâce (1950) is the key building in the 20th century revival of sacred art. The masterpieces that decorate it are signed by the greatest artists of modern art.
Founded by Canon Devémy for the sanatorial population, designed by Maurice Novarina and consecrated in 1950, the Plateau d'Assy church was decorated, with the advice of Dominican Father Marie-Alain Couturier, by the greatest masters of modern art
(Jean Bazaine, Pierre Bonnard, Georges Braque, Marc Chagall, Fernand Léger, Jean Lurçat, Henri Matisse, Germaine Richier, Georges Rouault, Chaim Jacob Lipchitz, Marguerite Huré, Théodore Strawinsky, Carlo Sergio Signori, Adeline Hébert-Stevens). In 2004, the building was classified as a Historic Monument and awarded the "Patrimoine du XXème siècle" label.

For groups: - Guided tours on request from the Passy Tourist Office. - For groups already formed wishing to visit the church freely, a simple request must be sent to the Passy Tourist Office so as not to disrupt any religious services or events.

From 04/04 to 03/11/2025 daily between 9 am and 6 pm. No tours during services. From 04/11 to 19/12/2025 on Friday and weekends between 10 am and 5 pm. From 20/12/2025 to 04/01/2026 daily between 10 am and 5 pm. From 05/01 to 06/02/2026 on Friday and weekends between 10 am and 5 pm. From 07/02 to 08/03/2026 daily between 10 am and 5 pm.

Location complements

How to get to the church: From Annecy or Geneva: Take the A40 towards Chamonix, exit n°21 "Passy" and follow signs for Plateau d'Assy. From Chamonix: Take exit n°21 "Passy-Centre" and follow signs for Plateau d'Assy. By coach: Drop-off is at the Place Tobé bus stop, about 100m after the church. For long-term coach parking, we recommend the Promenade Marie Curie parking lot. Please note: for coaches, GPS may recommend an unsuitable route. We recommend you follow the signs for the "Plateau d'Assy" departmental road.

Reception complements

Bring warm clothing, especially in autumn, winter and early spring. For guided tours, please keep to the scheduled time to ensure that your visit runs smoothly. Public toilets are available in the Place Tobé parking lot. For groups, please allow an extra 15 to 20 minutes before the start of the guided tour if you wish to arrive beforehand.
