Description

Construite par l'architecte Emile Auburtin en 1876. La porte d'entrée est surmontée d'un médaillon attestant de son ancien nom "Marguerite".
La famille La Tour d'Auvergne passa au moins l'été 1910 dans cette villa. Le 29 août Marcel Proust faisait livrer à la princesse pour 17h30, une gerbe de fleur d'une valeur de 25 francs. Il est probable que ce présent précédait la visite du romancier.
Le prince de la Tour d'Auvergne était le vice-président du golf-club de Cabourg.
La princesse avait pour ancêtre le maréchal Berthier, fait prince de Wagram par décision de Napoléon 1er. Les Berthier possédait la villa Chantereine à Cabourg.
