Gîte Les Vieux Auberts - La Vieille Maison

This spacious, well-equipped, relaxing and detached holiday home is located in Mouliherne in the department of Maine-et-Loire. The property is set in 2.35 hectares of flat land. It is entirely surrounded by woodland and state forest, which means it is full of wildlife, including deer, elusive weasels, dormice, hares, wild boar, lizards and bats. Over 50 species of birds have been seen or heard around the property, including golden orioles, hoopoes, kestrels and buzzards. The owners also have a pair of barn owls that regularly nest on the roof of the main house!

La Vieille Maison is the oldest part of the property, probably built around 1700. It has exposed beams throughout, many of which are original. The ceilings on the ground floor are about 3m high, but some of the beams on the first floor are quite low, so taller guests may need to watch their heads! There is a wide spiral staircase between the ground and first floors.

The entire ground floor is equipped with wide wheelchair-friendly doors.

Tours, Angers and Le Mans are 45 minutes' drive from the gite.

The gite sleeps up to 6 people in 3 large bedrooms, and offers dog-friendly accommodation (please note that we do not accept cats). All beds are 2m long, and are either King-size (160cm wide) or Superking (180cm wide) which can be configured as 2 single beds (each 80cm or 90cm wide, depending on the bed) or a double as required. Please indicate your preference on the booking request form.
The price includes clean, fresh towels, bath towels and bed linen to suit the number of guests and all beds will be fully made up prior to your arrival. For stays of 14 nights or more, the owners offer a full change of linen and towels after 7 nights if you wish, at no extra charge.
A cot and high chair are available on request (at no extra charge). Please indicate on the booking request form if you require these. Baby bed linen is not provided only a 60 cm x 120 cm mattress.
For the autumn and winter holidays, there are thermostatically controlled electric radiators in all bedrooms and a 7 kW wood-burning stove in the living room. The weekly rate includes electricity for the radiators and logs for the wood-burning stove.
