With its authentic heritage, it is home to a number of fine residences and boasts fine views. Its cellars, open to visitors (by appointment), are a delight for fans of troglodytic sites. More than 20 km of galleries were dug between the 16th and 19th centuries to extract the tufa stone needed to build the surrounding buildings.
Cornillé is also the starting point for the 22km "Tuffeau and Wood" walking trail, which takes in a variety of landscapes, from forests to farmland.
Guided tours of the cellars and village on request, by calling 06 63 07 81 83.
