Description
Site de mémoire de la Seconde Guerre mondiale théâtre d’un terrible massacre.
Le 28 mai 1940, les Allemands attaquent le nœud routier de Wormhout, point stratégique pour leur progression vers Dunkerque, défendu avec acharnement par les Britanniques. Durant cet affrontement, une centaine de soldats appartenant aux Royal Warwickshire Régiment, Cheshire Régiment et Royal Artillery, sont menés, enfermés et tués dans une grange au lieu-dit « la Plaine au Bois » à Esquelbecq.
