STÈLE DE L'AVIATEUR ALEXIS MANEYROL
Description
The monument is a tall, crude monolithic stele over 4 metres high. Alexis Maneyrol held the world gliding record in 1922 and 1923. On its face is an effigy of Maneyrol at the controls of his aircraft. Above him, symbolically, an eagle, wings spread, clings to the top of the rock. At the bottom of the stele is a single inscription: "To Maneyrol, his admirers".
Every year, a commemoration takes place in Frossay.
