A Cistercian abbey founded in 1117 and dedicated to Our Lady, it was the 4th daughter house of Cîteaux Abbey, acting as mother house and governing 276 monasteries in Europe.
Remains include: the porter’s lodge, the 15th century St. Ursula’s Chapel and a wall panel from the 12th century abbey church. Signs in the garden explain the archaeological finds (Fresnoy-en-Bassigny).
