Description
Cité en 1244 sous le nom de « Burgus au Chaboz », ce village s’est développé autour de son église dédiée à saint Laurent et de son château. La forteresse actuelle, reconstruite à partir de 1478 à l’emplacement d’un édifice plus ancien, est due à Poncet de Rivière, chambellan de Louis XI. Douves, pont-levis, herse, archères canonnières, et chemin de ronde en font un système défensif remarquable. Visite possible en septembre « journées du patrimoine ».
