MAMA SHAKERS are five young musicians who perform American popular music from the 1920s and 1930s with equal parts respect and energy.
They draw inspiration from and pay tribute to the forgotten music of the cotton fields, Louisiana’s seediest bars and the remotest corners of Tennessee.
From jug bands to New Orleans music, shifting from a crackling swing to a blues that sets your soul alight, MAMA SHAKERS take you on a musical journey through time!
Exploring in turn the wild swing of New Orleans, the deep country of Tennessee and the old blues of Memphis, this spirited band gives pride of place to vocal harmonies for an infectious show that leaves no one unscathed. With their mix of wild swing and intoxicating ballads, MAMA SHAKERS breathe new life into this century-old music with their breathtaking compositions.
