Le Pilou

The small town of Queyssac-les-Vignes is located in the very south of Corrèze, between Haut-Quercy and Limousin. The village, with its church and tower (a remnant of the old fortress), sits on a ridge with fairly steep slopes, overlooking the Dordogne Valley. Just below lies the hamlet of Queyssac-Bas, with its 11th-century Saint-Blaise Chapel. As its name suggests, the village is well known for its Vin Paillé (a sweet white or red wine typically enjoyed as an aperitif). Other traditional products are also produced here, including veal raised with its mother, walnuts, peaches, and strawberries.
