'La cote au Chapt' is the vestige of a residential tower in a C12th château. It is located on the left bank of the 'Brame' river, near the village of Thiat, next to the hamlet called 'La Chaume'. It first belonged to the lords Du Breuil, later becoming the property of the Lezay family of Lusignan. It was demolished during the 18th and 19th centuries. The remains of the castle were added to the official 'Monuments Historiques' list in 1988, and the tower in 1989.
