La Bénite-Fontaine

La Bénite-Fontaine, a little "Savoyard Lourdes", a jewel in the heart of a wooded valley.
1.2 km from La Roche-sur-Foron, towards the village of Saint-Sixt, lies the site of the Bénite-Fontaine.
In this timeless place, prayers have accompanied pilgrims since the 17th century. Stories of healing have made the site attractive, and Saint-François de Sales himself requested that a chapel be erected on a small promontory here. This small neo-Gothic building, called the Visitation, houses the statue of Our Lady of the Pregnant Visitation.
Pilgrimages are organized to this peaceful spot, the most important being the August 15 pilgrimage.
After discovering the chapel, walk down the Way of the Cross to the hollow of the wooded valley, where you'll discover the spring, the oratory and the sanctuary.
