Ancient Thermal Baths

All around and in the town of Niederbronn-les-Bains, objects attest to an ancient occupation: temples dedicated to Mercury, objects of daily life, Gallo-Roman baths ... These, discovered in 1835 and certainly dating back to 138 AD, are part of so-called "elongated" baths, in which the rooms are arranged in a row. So we go from the apodyterium (cloakroom) to the frigidarium (cold bath) then to the tepidarium (warm bath) to finish the caldarium (hot bath).
