Below the village of Polvern flows into the Blavet a small tributary, the Kergonano. Taking its source in the neighboring town of Calan, it used to operate five mills, including that of Polvern at the confluence of the two rivers. By extension, Polvern gave its name to the last lock on the Blavet, but also to the granite quarries operated in the 19th and 20th centuries on the Hennebont side. Other old quarries also existed on this bank to your left, not to mention the most recent one, still in operation.
