Gîte jacquaire de Mons

45 kilometres south of Bordeaux, in the heart of the Landes de Gascogne Regional Natural Park, the municipality of Belin-Beliet was in the Middle Ages an important stage in the Voie de Tours, one of the three main pilgrimage routes to Santiago de Compostela. The pilgrim's guide in the "liber sancti jacobi" or "codex calixtinus" (written in the second half of the 12th century) located in the small city the tomb of Roland's companions, the hero of Roncesvalles. When coming from Bordeaux, the hikers could use the hospital in Mons as a refuge.
Built in a former sheepfold, near the church of Mons, this gite is reserved for pilgrims with an accreditation card. It can also accommodate guests on the move (one night maximum). Bed space with seven 90 cm beds, large living room, two showers, two sinks, one toilet.
