REFUGE DE VÉNASQUE

Renovated refuge at the foot of Port de Vénasque. Enjoy a night facing the Aneto in a warm, wooded setting, perfect for contemplating the peaks.

The Vénasque mountain refuge, which was completely renovated in the summer of 2023, is situated in the Luchonnais region at the foot of the Col de Vénasque.

The string of lakes (boums) at Vénasque is the perfect place to relax before setting off to enjoy the magnificent panoramic view of Aneto from the Port de Vénasque, a half-hour’s walk away. The more adventurous can head up to the Pic de Sauvegarde to enjoy a 360° view of the Luchonnais, the Posets and the Maladeta. The very easy path will allow everyone to enjoy a good hot meal or a cold drink, depending on the weather!

Accommodation consists of 3 dormitories: 4 beds separated by partitions, making a total of 12 beds.
2 showers (operated by €3 tokens, as the refuge is self-sufficient in water). Two dry toilets and 1 urinal.
A wood-burning stove in the dining room will keep you warm.

Outside staffed periods, booking is now required for anyone wishing to stay overnight at the refuge in order to prevent overcrowding and improve visitor facilities.
Ensuring reliable payment for overnight stays also helps to fund the maintenance of the building and the supplies available on site. Bookings are made online via the ‘Book’ tab. When the refuge is unstaffed, full payment is required at the time of booking, followed by a confirmation email.
