Description

The French military cemetery is home to the fallen soldiers from the First World War:
1200 in a mass grave and 528 in individual graves. On 26, 27 and 28 August 1914, Vendean and Brittany regiments withstood and pushed back the enemy: they forced them to retreat by order of the General Staff.
Colonel Marolles died on 27 August, with his last words: "I die happy, my soldiers are so courageous."
