As you stroll along the Marais des Loirs walking trail, you can watch the birds from the observatories.
There are plenty of birdwatching opportunities: herons, egrets, avocets, coots, gulls, terns, shelducks, ducks, swans, etc.
The flora is typical of salt marshes: saladelles (also known as sea lavender because of its colour), tamarisk, wild chicory, fennel, mallow, marshmallow, samphire and obione, which can withstand being immersed in water.
The observatories.
The two observatories were built in close partnership with local stakeholders. The aim is to "see without being seen" the many species of birds (almost 300 different species have been observed on the site).
Educational panels have been installed in the observatories and along the Chemin des Loirs (providing information on birds, the functioning and use of the marshes, the environment, etc.).
