Botbanalec

Botbanalec

Description

The village of Botbonalec is made up of old farmhouses on either side of the road, remodelled in the 19th and 20th centuries. Some parts of these houses are older, as can be seen by their segmental arch and semicircular doors dating from the 16th and 17th centuries. In front of one of the longères stands a typical western Morbihan well with its pedestal lintel. Although it is not decorated, its monolithic coping is cleverly carved, recessed to facilitate drawing of water, but protruding and rounded on the right to allow a full bucket to be caught and put down with the left hand, while the right hand turns the crank on the winding mechanism.
