Old railway line

By going down the path to the wood you can discover the traces of an old railway. 
Will you notice the traces of its passage?
By following the raised embankment a few meters wide you follow the passage of this old line with metric track opened in 1921. It connected Baud to Port Louis via Languidic, Hennebont, Plouhinec up to Riantec.
During the Second World War, the Germans took over the line and created a branch to the pebble storage area where you are. They also extended the line to Port Louis in order to transport materials for the construction of the Lorient submarine base. The pebbles were carried up from the beach of Magouëro in Plouhinec and then loaded into the wagonnets until Port Louis. Barges connected Lorient with their edges these pebbles and sand from the dunes of Erdeven.
