Nicknamed the marrow bone in French because of its Y-shaped layout, this building was built in 1955 in the centre of an island belonging to the French Navy. The facade open on the square is divided by the two glassed-in staircases. Built with prefabricated elements (concrete slabs, rails, etc.), this building is an example of the arrival of comfortable apartments. They had washrooms with basins and dryers, consigning the public washhouse to the past.
