Built in 1891 by Henry Flagler, and resembling a hotel more than a prison, St. Augustine's Old Jail served as a home to prisoners for over 60 years! The atmosphere of the jail remains preserved today, despite modern-day restorations.
Enjoy an enthralling guided tour around this intriguiging building which harbors many secrets, and learn about the history of the Old Jail and the life of the prisoners previously detained within its walls. During your tour, you will have the opportunity to meet Sheriff Joe Perry, one of the strictest prison guards in the Southern states! Actors in period dress will also provide entertainment and recreate an atmosphere reminiscent of when the prison was in service.
