Along the River Orne, between Laize-la-Ville and Saint André-sur-Orne, retrace the geological history of the region with geologist Yohann Poprawski. Go back to the time when a vast mountain range covered Normandy. The rocks in the area, initially deposited in horizontal layers in shallow marine waters between 540 and 430 million years ago, are now tilted, forming a vast fold. This fold developed due to tightening plate tectonics, to form a large linear structure between 360 and 300 million years ago.
