Le Camp de César

IMG_8378

Description

Caesar's Camp, or the "City of Limes", is a Gallic oppidum (port) whose origins date back to Gallo-Roman times. This ancient enclosure was once used for fishing or to escape by sea in the event of an attack. Contrary to popular belief, it was not the Romans who occupied this site, but the Gauls. You can still admire the mound that served as a rampart.
