Réserve Naturelle Nationale de la Tourbière de Mathon

Situated in the commune of Lessay, the Mathon Peat Bog National Nature Reserve, despite its modest 16-hectare surface area, nevertheless houses a remarkable natural heritage composed of numerous habitats of European interest: dry moorland with peat, acid peat bog with sphagnum mosses, alkaline marshes, alder - wet willow, oak woods, wet meadows with orchids... a real botanical jewel, this site is home to more than 300 species of higher plants in particular. As for the fauna, there are more than 1200 species of invertebrates, about thirty species of nesting birds...
