Haras de Rocquigny

Description

The Siour Family has been breeding horses since 1903 at the Haras de Rocquigny stud farm, in a 150-hectare site. The generations have succeeded each other on the farm and each one has developed a new activity related to horses and adapted to the period. We are located in Seine-Maritime (76) in Upper-Normandy, close to Dieppe, a few kilometres away from the sea.

Since 2009, Jean-Charles Siour, (Bernard's son) builds on the know-how that was passed on to him. He carries on the family tradition of horse breeding, but with a new approach. Indeed, he created SARL Laboratoire JC Siour and thus offers Essilac milk and Rocquigny beauty products made of mare's milk, which is produced on the stud farm.

In 2013, Jean-Charles took the whole farm after his father and settled there. Progressively the horses replaced the cows with Haflinger breed to produce milk and fitness livery services were set up in addition to the breeding of French Trotters.

Nowadays, the Rocquigny stud farm comprises about 130 horses. We produce our own straw, hay and cereals (barley/oat) to feed our horses.
