LES RENDEZ-VOUS DE L'ERDRE

LES RENDEZ-VOUS DE L'ERDRE

Description

Thursday: arrival of the fleet, concerts from 4.00 pm
Concerts
7.30 pm BIRTHDAY BRASS BAND
Great music, enthusiasm and a wonderful collective energy to celebrate the festival’s 40th anniversary! That’s what the exceptional Birthday Brass Band promises us for this year’s festival! Comprising over 100 amateur musicians – passionate instrumentalists of all ages – the Birthday Brass Band is led by Zounds’ saxophonist, Xavier Thibaud, and specialises in a New Orleans-style repertoire. This large brass band will perform seven times during the festival, in different towns, promising seven joyful and festive occasions!

8.00 pm HAWAIIAN PISTOLEROS
Off the beaten track, the Hawaiian Pistoleros roam ‘their’ America to the sound of the steel guitar and the ukulele. A delightful blend of Texan western swing and the languid echoes of the Hawaiian archipelago.

9.30 pm HOT SWING SEXTET
Between Paris and Harlem, the Hot Swing Sextet has organised a tailor-made journey into the world of swing just for you. They invite you to step back in time for a trip into the frenetic atmosphere of the jazz clubs of the 1930s!

FRIDAY 28 AUGUST 8.00 am Sophie BERNADO at sunrise
Sophie Bernado is certainly both mischievous and a virtuoso! Having accompanied Dominique A and Emilie Loiseau, armed with a machete and plenty of courage, she has made her mark on the jazz world with her bassoon and is taking it to places no one expects! Behind a deliberately gruff sense of humour lies a musician of great finesse, an unrivalled improviser, capable of conjuring up soundscapes from her instrument that are as delicate as they are unexpected. An explorer of breath and sound, always ready to take the back roads rather than the motorways of jazz.

Friday morning: the fleet sets off for the town of Sucé-sur-Erdre
Stop at La Poupinière at 10.30 am
A lovely little harbour where you can immerse yourself in the world of Gustave Caillebotte’s paintings as sailing and rowing boats pass by.
