Contemporary with the ramparts of Aigues Mortes, the imposing Tour Carrée was, at the end of the 13th century, the only inland access route to the royal city.
This listed historic monument, once converted into a toll booth, now offers a privileged vantage point from which to observe the flora and fauna of the Camargue. Today, from the top of this observatory, classified as a historic monument since December 1, 1903, you can contemplate the Camargue fauna and flora in a protected environment (little egrets, grey herons, moorhens, coypu, as well as Camargue horses and bulls).
Free access.
