Museum of Fine Arts and Archaeology.
Archaeological pieces from the Middle Paleolithic to the Bronze Age and the Iron Age are on display. There is also a collection of paintings from the 16th century.
Founded in 1889 and installed in the Hôtel de Pellerin since 1967, the Musée du Colombier presents collections covering a vast period from prehistory to 20th century art.
Important donations of paintings and sculptures in the 19th and early 20th centuries have enabled the museum to build up a collection of works of great importance, including the Triptych of the Holy Trinity by Jean Bellegambe and two allegories by Pieter Brueghel de Velours.
In the second half of the 20th century, the archaeological collections were considerably expanded, until today they constitute a remarkable collection, testimony to the human occupation of the Alès region from prehistoric times to the medieval period.
The Dovecote Museum is nestled in a beautiful 18th century mansion, with a French garden decorated with a beautiful rock garden.
