This is a magnificent Mediterranean interpretation of Niwaki, the ancestral Japanese art of pruning. Pruned into clouds, the native trees and shrubs in this topiary garden evoke the garrigue, hills and valleys of the surrounding countryside.
A passionate gardener, Thierry patiently guides the trees and sculpts the shrubs to create transparencies, perspectives and magnificent views of the impressive panorama.
To visit the Jardin des Buis is to take a look at a microcosm of the attentive gardener, where diversity and plant density stimulate biodiversity. The gardener's role is to regulate the blossoming and good health of the plants.
The natural stone cooling pond structures the 400m2 garden. It is the unit of measurement for the architecture of a spectacular, majestic and living landscape, maintained with the desire to achieve formal perfection.
A rainwater tank supplies the water needed for watering. Organic amendments are used to maintain the quality of the draining soil. Garden management is pragmatic and ecological.
Adult: 4 €. Free entry for the students.
