The Georges Borias Museum is housed within the old, 17th century Episcopal Palace, between the town and the garrigue. Browse through its archeological, historical and art and craft collections, and learn more about the town's rich heritage and the writers that contributed to its reputation (Racine, Gide).
Pottery from Uzège is one of the highlights of the museum: pottery from Saint-Quentin, products from the Pichon factory in Uzès.
Do not miss the famous Uzès cupboards, painted furniture typical of the region in the 18th century.
Important collection dedicated to the writer André Gide: portraits, personal souvenirs, manuscripts, correspondence, illustrated editions...
The Georges Borias Museum has been recognised as a Musée de France by the Ministry of Culture.
It organises a temporary exhibition every year.
The museum offers guided tours in French, English and Italian.
Visit sheets are available at the reception desk in French, English and German, as well as an audio guide (free) in French and English.
