Puy des Fayes et stèle Marcelle Delpastre

Description

The summit of Puy des Fayes overlooks a magnificent landscape stretching as far as Limoges, with Mont Gargan and Mont Ceix.
The Marcelle Delpastre stele honors this artist, poet and ethnologist. Born in 1925 in Germont, in the commune of Chamberet, she spent her life on the family farm, while devoting herself to writing.
In 1963, she published her 1st poem entitled La lenga que tant me platz ("The language that pleases me so much") in the magazine Lemouzi. Marcelle Delpastre's poetry is rooted in the landscapes and traditions of the Limousin region. Her writings celebrate the beauty of farming practices, nature and local myths.
In Le Tombeau des ancêtres, she explores the religious and pagan customs of her territory.

Marcelle Delpastre died in 1998 at her home in Germont, leaving behind an exceptional literary and cultural legacy.
